While serving as president of the Sierra College Robotics Team, one of our projects was to develop a custom combat robot to compete in the 120lb division at Robogames. The entire RC-controlled robot from the Chromoly frame to the battery system was designed and manufactured in-house by our members. The 30lb weapon, which was made of AR500 abrasion-resistant steel rotated at ~2,000RPM proved to be an effective weapon against competition at Robogames.
